His Masterpiece: A lesson learned in Belize
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
One of our morning devotional a last week focused on this verse. I believe that God exemplified this idea in our team throughout the week.
A theme I noticed while serving in Belize last week is how God designed the body of Christ to work together to fulfill his purpose.
It is somewhat unlikely that the paths of the members of our team would cross, due to geography alone. We had participants from Florida, Georgia, Minasota, California/Belize, Conneticut and Canada/Italy. We were different ages from 23-62. Yet the variety of our team was a great strength in serving the community of Las Flores.
One member had years of experience working with preschool age students. One member brought resources that helped us communicate to those who spoke only Spanish. A couple people had experience setting up media equipment for our community events and a few had experience in drama for the skits we performed. We had a member who owned a cleaning business to help deep clean the kitchen of the church. Every project we took on, we had an expert in that area.
Seeing how well the team worked together to accomplish all of the ministry projects displayed how well God planned out his masterpiece. He gives us each gifts, and he uses each one to bring fame to Jesus and glory to His name.
Yes, it was cool to see how God put our team together! I believe the ages were 23 to 61, though! 🙂
